The app does not find any nodes.
Use the recovery card in Network: the gold primary action is Open Wi-Fi settings. Connect to the intended lighting network, return to RDM Finder, then use the dark secondary Find nodes again action if needed. The raw no-node error is kept out of the normal screen, but if the same discovery problem occurs twice, Send diagnostics appears and includes that technical error plus the current network context for ANLC support. Review the Quick Start subnet result too, then check client isolation, VLANs, firewall, broadcast and multicast.
The node is visible, but RDM fixtures are not.
Confirm that RDM is enabled on the relevant node output, that the correct universe/output is selected, and that the physical DMX/RDM line is healthy. If a fixture rescan returns an unexpected warning or incomplete device-list error, use the Send diagnostics button shown directly with that message; you do not need to navigate to Settings first.
How do Android testers receive newer Google Play builds?
During the current Google Play test phase, RDM Finder checks Google Play once after startup without blocking the normal interface. If a newer build is available to that tester account, the app shows Update available with Update now and Later. Choosing Later only dismisses it for that app session. Testers can also use Settings → App updates → Check for updates. Offline startup remains silent.
Is the ELC dmXLAN NodeGBx series supported?
Possibly, but it has not yet been verified on physical NodeGBx hardware. RDM Finder includes an experimental standard Art-Net/RDM baseline for recognizable ELC dmXLAN NodeGBx 8 and NodeGBx 8 Slave nodes, including multi-output/multi-bind discovery. This does not guarantee compatibility with every firmware or configuration, and proprietary dmXLAN/rdmLAN node programming is not currently claimed. If you test a NodeGBx, please use Send diagnostics after unexpected discovery or RDM behaviour so ANLC can validate and refine support.
Why does the lighting Wi-Fi say “No internet”?
That can be normal. RDM Finder is designed to communicate with lighting equipment on the local network, so Art-Net, sACN and RDM workflows do not require internet access. Store actions such as buying Pro, Restore purchase or Manage / Cancel Subscription can require internet. When they do, RDM Finder shows an internet-help window with Open Wi-Fi settings instead of treating the local lighting network as broken.
Will Quick Patch restart after I switch Wi-Fi to unlock Pro?
No. If you reach Step 4 of 4 with a reviewed patch, RDM Finder keeps that Wizard step and reviewed plan while you temporarily switch to internet Wi-Fi for Pro. After purchase, choose Return to Lighting Network. The app tries the remembered Wi-Fi where supported and otherwise opens the system Wi-Fi screen; when you return, it checks the same selected gateway automatically. Apply Changes stays blocked until that gateway is found again, and nothing is applied automatically.
What happens after Apply Changes in Patch?
In both normal Patch and Quick Patch Wizard, every fixture shown with a green planned address is treated as approved when you apply the plan. A green fixture that is already on the planned address is marked DONE without a redundant RDM write; a fixture that needs an address change is marked DONE after the write is confirmed. If a required write fails, that fixture stays not-DONE. Gray/current fixtures are never marked DONE by Apply.
Why is a known fixture missing from Patch?
Patch only shows RDM fixtures that the app currently sees as online. If a known fixture is missing, confirm that it is powered on, that the DMX/RDM line is not interrupted by a loose or damaged cable, connector or splitter, and that the device actually supports RDM. A DMX-only fixture cannot be discovered as an RDM fixture. Also confirm that the fixture is reachable and shown as online, then refresh or run discovery again.
Why does iOS ask for Local Network access?
RDM Finder needs local-network access to discover and communicate with lighting equipment on your network. Denying that permission can prevent discovery or device communication.
How do I enable Local Network access again on iPhone or iPad?
Open Settings, find RDM Finder and enable Local Network. Depending on the iOS or iPadOS version, the setting may also appear under Settings, Privacy & Security, Local Network. Reopen RDM Finder after changing it.
I use a Fairphone with /e/OS and App Lounge. Why can’t I buy Pro?
App Lounge does not support in-app purchases. RDM Finder may therefore report that purchases are not allowed for the store account or device. This does not indicate a problem with RDM discovery or the lighting network. See the Fairphone /e/OS section above.
The node appears, but its information is incomplete.
Wait for discovery to finish and refresh the device. Confirm that the node supports the requested information and that no firewall, routing rule or unstable wireless link is interrupting replies. Include the node manufacturer, model and firmware version in a support request.
A setting does not change or returns to its old value.
The fixture may not support that parameter, may reject the requested value, or may be locked by its own configuration. Change one setting at a time, read it back, and check the fixture manufacturer’s RDM documentation.
Can I use RDM Finder through a VPN or over the internet?
RDM Finder is designed for equipment reachable on the local lighting network. VPNs and routed links do not always carry the broadcast or multicast traffic used for discovery. Test on the local network first.
Does RDM Finder change fixtures during discovery?
Discovery and reading device information are separate from intentional configuration changes. Before writing settings, verify that you selected the correct device and record the original value.
Does RDM Finder require an ANLC account?
No ANLC account is required for the normal local commissioning workflow. The app is designed to communicate directly with compatible equipment on the local network.
Where is app data stored?
RDM Finder processes app data locally on your device. See the RDM Finder privacy policy for storage, deletion and support-email details.
